Our peptide synthesis enables highly sophisticated products for new growing markets. Highly sensitive reagents, colorants and liquid products like buffers and solutions for the Diagnostics business are manufactured in Mannheim, too.

History

Chemical production in Mannheim has a long tradition. Already in 1872 C. Boehringer (later Boehringer Mannheim) started with the production of the malaria drug Quinine by extraction from the bark of Cinchona rubra. At 1900 i.e. Theophylline, Caffeine und Vanillin were manufactured in larger quantities by synthetic route.
